FABRICATION AND INVESTIGATION THE OPTICAL PROPERTIES OF TELLURITE GLASS (Tc02) DOPED WITH ACTIVE NEODYMIUM IONS (Nd+3)

ABSTRACT

A series of tellurite glasses has been prepared in this work; pure tellurite glass is prepared using direct direct melting method in which the tellurim oxide powder (Te02) is being melted alone at a specific temperature in alumina crucible. In the same way, the powder of (Te02) has been mixed with oxides of Zinc, Barium and Neodymium to prepare samples of the glass system: (Zn0-Ba0-Te02: Nd203) with (1-3.5)% ratios of (Nd203). The results have been analyzed using of atomic absorption analysis. Measurements like density measurements and X-ray diffraction. The optical characteristics which includes absorption, transmission and reflection spectra in the wavelength range (200- 1100)nm have been carried out. The fundamental absorption edge that lies in the ultra-violet and visible regions has been specified. The position of the absorption bands that have appeared in the spectra for the sample doped with (Nd+3) ions, has been specified.
