ABSTRACT

Biostratigraphy of Euphrates and Jeribe Limestone Formation have been studied by using (472) thin sections belonging to nine boreholes forms the central and Southern Iraq.

Benthonic Forminifera have been identified and used to indicate the characterized biozones of each Formation.

The age of the Euphrates Limestone and Jeribe Limestone Formations have been considered Lower Miocene and Early Middle Miocene respectively, where they are separating by Dhiban Anhydrite Formation, or of Late Lower Miocene age for both Formations, where they are intercalated without the Dhiban Anhydrite Formation.
